Painter Alexa Meade has teamed up with model Sheila Vand to create a series of gorgeous living paintings called “MILK: what will you make of me?”. Meade is already known for painting directly on bodies to make 3D paintings, but this series adds a new interesting element to the mix. Vand’s body is not only covered in paint, but submerged in a canvas of milk. The end result makes it seem as though the subject is actually being painted on a flat surface. You can see more artwork and behind the scenes photos at Alex // Sheila.
MUST SEE photos, makes you understand the strength of nature.
American photographer Allan Teger’ bodyscapes® is a cool set of black and white photographs depicting miniature scenes on the nude body mimicking various landscapes.
Artist describing the development of his work:
‘I remember the moment that the idea for bodyscapes® came to me. I was thinking that the shape and structure of the universe repeated itself at every level and suddenly I had the image in my mind of a skier going down a breast. this was it – the universe repeating its shapes – a body looking like a mountain. it was also an example of two realities coexisting. the picture could be seen as a landscape and it could also be seen as a body.
although they were different, both perceptions were right at the same time. I knew instantly that I had an entire series of images waiting to be captured on film.’
Photographer and artist Adele Enersen has a little baby boy named Vincent. When he’s napping in a peculiar pose (which most babies are likely to do), Adele snaps a photo and imagines what he’s dreaming of. Then she draws it. The result is prettyyyy adorable. Sure, sometimes Vincent’s eyes are open, but hey, everybody’s different. So he likes to nap with one eye open!Probably get a decent night’s sleep, now that I think of it.
