Ampersand Food

In the world of typography there seems to be a fascination with the ampersand.  Illustrator and graphic designer Dan Beckemeyer made these ampersands that represent food combinations. I’m getting kind of hungry now…

Burgers…

Eyeshadow

Burger King Netherlands has created one of the coolest ads I’ve seen in quite a while. I love how detailed the cheeseburger-inspired eye makeup on this woman is…it’s even got sesame seeds on the bun!

Wallet

There are few things in life I enjoy more than a good burger. This burger-shaped wallet available at Lazy Oaf made my day. Imagine this: You’re on a first date, when the check comes at the end of the meal you say, “Oh, no, it’s my treat,” and you pull out a hamburger wallet. You’ve just got yourself a second date. No doubt in my mind. All thanks to the burger wallet.

Paper

A wonderful poster from Swedish graphic designer Daniel Carsten.

We love Patterns

These kaleidoscope-like patterns of Normann Copenhagen products are really neat. Individually, the products are stellar works of design, and when they’re put together like this it’s really marvelous.

Ps, not it’s not Photoshop

When I see “Ps”, like any designer,  the first thing that comes to my mind is Photoshop, but let’s not forget that it could easily stand for “Pepper and Salt” too! This delightful set of salt and pepper shakers by Frack Design is based on the Photoshop icon and is, in my opinion, brilliant.

Shadows + Light = Paintings??

All I have to say is…you’ve gotta be kidding me. I can’t even imagine how hard this would be to set up. Artist Rashad Alakbarov uses suspended translucent objects and other found materials to create light and shadow paintings on walls. Seriously, it’s amazing!!!!!!!

Write with… knives

A creative typographic installation made of knives by Farhad Moshiri. The elegant script juxtaposed with a mass of sharp knives is quite striking!
